Host a Shelter Party

Host an on-site party for residents living in our New Haven shelters. Bring some treats and plan some games and activities for a celebration of whichever holiday you like. Halloween, Valentines Day, Fourth of July, etc... We would love to hear your ideas! This opportunity does require a background check.

Prepare a Meal

Our volunteers help provide a meal for our shelter guests and they appreciate it! Our shelter meal volunteers purchase the food, cook the meal in our kitchen, and serve it to our shelter guests OR prepare/purchase offsite and drop off at the shelter. We can provide tips and menu suggestions to make it easy. To serve a meal in shelter, a background check is required.

Skills Based Volunteering

Do you have a special skill that you would like to share? Contact us to learn more how you can lead a workshop or setup a one-on-one activity on things like reading comprehension, budgeting, stress management, cooking, and more. This opportunity does require a background check.

Long Term Volunteering

We have ongoing needs for volunteers looking to make a commitment to our mission. Activities such as Internships, Office Assistant, Shelter Assistant or Furniture Co-Op Assistant. This opportunity does require a background check.

Start a Fundraiser

Fundraising events are a great way to bring friends together, increase awareness about homelessness, and raise funds to support New Reach! The possibilities are endless – host a gift card drive, host an event or party and ask friends to donate the ticket price, donate your birthday or holiday, bake sale and beyond.

Events / Campaigns

New Reach has a number of engagement opportunities throughout the year at our awareness and fundraising events. These are based on an event specific needs which may include serving on an event committee, marketing and promotions, onsite assistance.
